Ustad Bismillah Khan was a renowned Indian musician who popularized the shehnai, a traditional reeded woodwind instrument. Khan's virtuosity and dedication to his craft made him a leading figure in Indian music. He was known for his performances, which were reportedly played on television every Independence Day. Khan's father, Paigambar Khan, was a musician himself, and Khan studied music under the guidance of Ali Bux. He also collaborated with other musicians, including Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan.
