International Council of Museums | Sarods

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to museums, with its headquarters in Paris. ICOM maintains formal relations with UNESCO and has a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. ICOM members receive a card providing free or reduced-rate entry to many museums worldwide. ICOM has established partnerships with other organizations, such as the Getty Conservation Institute and the Smithsonian Institution. ICOM has established a number of committees and working groups, such as the ICOM Committee for Ethics and the ICOM Committee for Museum Management.
