Vilayat Khan was a renowned Indian classical sitar player. Khan began his musical journey at a young age and went on to create and develop music alongside other notable musicians such as Imdad Khan, Enayat Khan, and Imrat Khan. With a career spanning over six decades, Khan collaborated with numerous musicians and composers throughout his career, including Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan. He also influenced a generation of younger musicians, including Shankar Mahadevan and Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Khan's music has also been recognized for its therapeutic and spiritual benefits.
